Co-Founder & Director of Athletics

Junior Cadougan is the Co-founder and Director of Athletics at Teach and Ball. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and had three siblings, one sister, and two brothers. In 2003, his family faced adversity when his brother was shot. Although his brother survived, it still impacted him deeply.  Nevertheless, Junior used his passion for basketball to push him to reach his maximum potential. He was ranked the number 1 junior high school basketball player in Canada and has been a trailblazer in Canadian basketball since he was 15 years old.

Junior was one of the first students that had the opportunity to leave Canada and attend high school in the USA in the 9th grade. After spending one year at Community Christian High School in Stockbridge, Junior moved to Houston, Texas and attended Christian Life Academy.

At Christian Life Center Academy in Humble, he was regarded as a three-year letter winner. Upon completing a successful career at High School, he got a scholarship for Marquette University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and Justice from Marquette University.

Junior has been representing Canada internationally  since the age of 16. He has played basketball professionally in Canada, Greece, Italy, and Georgia for nine years. He was invited to attend Canada’s Senior men’s basketball training camp at 15. He competed on all levels: Cadets, Junior Nationals, and Men’s.

Junior has represented Canada in some very well-respected opportunities:

  • Represented Canada in 2012-13 AmeriCup Qualifiers and Marchand Cup.
  • Helped Canada win a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.
  • Played three games at the 2016-17 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers
  • Played one game for Canada at the 2017-18 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers
  • Represented Canada at the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifier in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Junior’s student and professional experiences have made him excel academically and athletically. Moreover, being an athlete combines being focused in the classroom, training, and competition. Junior’s focused mentality as a student and an athlete has helped him realize the importance of education and sports.

Junior works to help the younger generation find the balance between school and sports at Teach and Ball. He works to teach and encourage a discipline that provides mental toughness, leadership, and consistency. His life shows what hard work and discipline can do for your success. His formal education and professional sports experience have become his recipe for success as a professional athlete.

Junior helped guide the program to the National Association of Christian Athletes Elite Division I national title. He was also awarded as the event’s most outstanding offensive player selected to play in the Reebok All-American Game.

Junior took his team to three (NCAA) sweet sixteen: such as BIG East conference All-Academic team (2013), sweet sixteen 16 (x3), Elite 8 (2013) as well as BIG East regular-season champions (2012-2013).
