ABEL U
Respite Services
Teach and Ball has partnered with ABEL U to provide RESPITE services to the communities we serve. ABEL U will provide planned or emergency respite care to our families who are parents of a youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing relief caregiving to alleviate the additional work and stress off of our families.
If you need relief caregiving, please contact us at 647-209-0232 or [email protected].
Abel U is an Youth Day Program Service designed to provide structured leisure and community participation activities for cognitively impaired youths or for those with a dual-diagnosis of a developmental disability. Our services are person-centered and unique. Community engagement and daily outings are part of our regular service. Our services are unique and designed to enhance the social, physical, and emotional well-being of each client in a fun and safe manner. Traditional day programs that are facility based are essentially designed to contain behaviors rather than developing the necessary social and life skills to minimize them or eliminate them altogether. In addition, our services are mobile and our hours are flexible.
The youths we support are diagnosed with one or more disabilities that include:
- i. Autism
- ii. Intellectual Disabilities
- iii. Developmental Disabilities
- iv. Mental Health
