Samantha Frederick is the Social Worker & Psychotherapist at Teach and Ball. With eleven years of experience working with children, youth and families, Samantha continues to create a niche that caters and supports humanities diverse emotional and psychological needs. The role and support of her family has guided and shaped her journey through life and the purpose of her being here on earth, which is to serve and educate communities with love and care.

Samantha grew up in Scarborough where she observed the impact of many social determinants of health and then moved from the GTA to York Region in her teenaged years. Samantha saw how far her family came, from being immigrants to finding ways to positively develop themselves within society. Although challenges and struggles occurred throughout life, Samantha used the heartaches of life to propel and strengthen her inner being, while supporting and advocating for vulnerable communities in society.

 

Samantha has been working in the social service field for eleven years. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology in 2014. In 2017, she earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree. She then went on to York University, where she completed a Master’s degree in Social Work. During her Masters degree, Samantha completed an internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, where she provided therapy, consultation, clinical assessments and mentorship to individuals and focus groups. 

Samantha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist. She currently works with Immigrants, Refugees, Caribbean and African descent children, youth, young adults and families who experience mental health concerns. This includes depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, etc,.

Samantha is the founder of her Private Practice Arise Mental Health. Her mission is to create holistic and unprecedented mental health care for vulnerable communities. Her practice offers individual & family psychotherapy, clinical consultation and assessments, case management, psychoeducational workshops and much more. Her eclectic approach to mental health helps her navigate and provide the best service needed.

Samantha is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She engages in continuing professional education in accordance with the requirements of her College. Samantha is also a good standing member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
